§ 8-75. Manner of service; posting and filing.

  • Complaints or orders issued pursuant to this division may be served on a person personally or by registered mail. If the whereabouts of such person is unknown and cannot be ascertained in the exercise of reasonable diligence, the enforcement officer shall make an affidavit to that effect; and he may then serve such complaint or order by publication. Service by publication can be accomplished by having such complaint or order placed in a newspaper printed and published in the county for two consecutive weeks. A copy of such complaint or order shall also be posted in a conspicuous place on the premises affected by the complaint or order, and a copy shall also be filed with the clerk of court and shall have the same force and effect as other actions and notices against the property as provided by law.
