§ 2-221. Purpose.

This division implements that referendum of February 28, 1989, authorizing the county to own, operate and maintain sewer facilities. The purpose of this division is to establish the county public service commission. It shall be the function and purpose of the commission as an agency of the county to provide wastewater treatment facilities for collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of domestic and industrial wastewater within the county, subject to limitations of territorial jurisdiction set forth in section 2-222.
